MANILA, Philippines — Hindi na binigyan ng Davao Occidental Tigers ng tsansa ang San Juan Knights na makahirit ng ‘winner-take-all’ match.

Muling pinulutan ng Tigers ang Knights sa Game Four via overtime, 89-88, para angkinin ang MPBL National Finals Lakan Season crown kahapon sa Subic Bay Gym.

Winakasan ng Davao ni coach Don Dulay ang kanilang best-of-five natio­nal championship series ng Knights ni mentor Randy Alcantara sa 3-1.

“It feels so much swee­ter knowing that we got the (championship) rematch. Thank God we came through,” sabi ni Dulay, dating PBA point guard.

Ang krusyal na three-point shot ni Mark Yee sa huling 13.4 segundo ng extension ang nagbigay sa Davao ng 89-88 abante kasunod ang kanyang blangka kay San Juan guard Jhonard Clarito.

“Hindi ko gawa ito. Ginawa ito ng Panginoong Jesus,” sabi ni Yee na tumapos na may 19 points, 12 rebounds at 3 assists. “Wala talagang imposible sa Kanya.”

Inilista ng Tigers ang 16-point lead, 37-21, mula sa triple ni Kenneth Mocon sa second period hanggang makabalik sa laro ang Knights sa fourth quarter patungo sa extension, 80-80.

Samantala, sinalo ni Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas ang ginastos na halos P1 mil­yon ng Basilan Steel sa Subic Bay Peninsular, ang quarantine hotel ng liga, makaraang makipag-usap kina MPBL president at CEO Manny Pacquiao at Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes.
