MANILA, Philippines — Walang dudang lalo pang mapapaunlad ni Phi­lippine Olympic Committee (POC) re-elected president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino ang Philippine sports.

Ito ang paniniwala ni Taguig-Pateros First District Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano, tumayong chairman ng Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) na na­nguna sa pag-organisa ng 30th SEA Games noong Disyembre.

Sa nasabing edisyon ng biennial event ay hinirang na overall champion ang Team Philippines.

“We hope that the POC leadership will continue to inspire and provide our athletes with the support they need during competitions,” wika ni Cayetano.

Muling nailuklok si Tolentino, kinatawan ng ika-8 Distrito ng Cavite sa Kongreso, bilang pangulo ng POC sa ikalawang sunod na pagkakataon matapos talunin si archery head Atty. Clint Aranas, 30-22, sa eleksyon noong Biyernes.

“I am confident that the power of collaboration and our strength as Filipino people, which lies in fighting as one and winning as one and which we rediscovered du­ring the SEAG, will sustain its momentum,” ani Cayetano.

Paghahandaan ng POC ang pagdedepensa ng Team Philippines sa korona ng SEA Games sa 2021 edition na pamamahalaan ng Vietnam sa Nobyembre.

“I also look forward to seeing the POC step up its programs and remain focused and committed to our shared vision, which is to make sports a shining  inspiration for the youth and a driving force for unity in our nation,” ni Cayetano.
