Abueva lumalakas ang tsansang makapaglarong muli sa PBA
MANILA, Philippines — Unti-unti nang nasisilip ni Phoenix Super LPG forward Calvin Abueva ang kanyang tsansang makabalik sa Philippine Basketball Association matapos ang halos 15 buwan.
Inihayag kahapon ni Games and Amusements Board (GAB) official Kara Mallonga na nakumpleto na ni Abueva ang isang three-day Professional Athlete’s Code of Conduct and Ethics seminar.
Dahil dito ay inirerekomenda ni GAB chairman Abraham ‘Baham’ Mitra sa GAB Board ang pagbibigay sa 32-anyos na tinaguriang ‘The Beast’ ng kanyang professional license.
“Based on compliance to the documentary requirements and results of post-seminar evaluation reinstatement of his professional license is, therefore, recommended subject to the conditions and approval of the board,” ani Mallonga.
Ang natitira na lamang requirement ng GAB na dapat tugunan ni Abueva ay ang pagsailalim sa drug test.
Nakipag-usap din ang GAB kina Phoenix coach Topex Robinson, team manager Paolo Bugia at Alan Trinidad, dating coach ni Abueva sa Pampanga.
“The three were unanimous in affirming that they have seen a significant transformation in Abueva since resources have been made available to aid him in his road towards reformation and recovery,” wika ng report ng GAB.
Si Mallonga ang namahala sa nasabing seminars kay Abueva noong Oktubre 6, 8 at 14 via virtual conference.
Nauna nang pinayagan ng PBA na isama ng Fuel Masters si Abueva sa kanilang 15-man lineup para sa 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.
