Cariaso gustong maging all-around player si Manuel
MANILA, Philippines — Sa kanyang pagiging miyembro ng Gilas Pilipinas noong 2019 Southeast Asian Games ay nagposte si Vic Manuel ng average na 15.6 points per game.
Ipinakita niya ang kanyang tikas laban sa Singapore, Vietnam at Myanmar sa group play, kontra sa Indonesia sa semifinals at sa Thailand sa gold medal round.
Ayon kay Alaska head coach Jeffrey Cariaso, mas gusto niyang makita ang depensa ng tinaguriang ‘The Muscleman’.
“We know he’s a scorer; give him the ball and he can do wonders. What’s we’re challenging Vic is the other aspect,” wika ni Cariaso kay Manuel. “Defensively, he should understand how big a role he plays.”
“And when I say consistency, that’s what we’re gonna expect from Vic playing big on both sides of the floor,” dagdag pa nito..
Naglista naman ang produkto ng PSBA Jaguars ng average na 13.7 points per game sa kanyang ikaapat na taon para sa Aces.
“He should understand defending, rebounding and being to understand what we’re doing with the pick and role is a huge part of the overall picture,” ani Cariaso sa kanyang power forward.
