La Salle aabangan sa susunod na UAAP Season

MANILA, Philippines — Mas lalong aabangan ang De La Salle University sa mga susunod na seasons ng UAAP women’s volleyball tournament matapos makuha si Filipino-American outside hitter Jade Fuentes.

Desidido ang Lady Spikers na mabawi ang korona dahil mas palalakasin pa nito ang lineup sa susunod na season lalo pa’t papasok na ang ilang matitikas na rookies kasama pa si Fuentes.

Maganda ang rekord ni Fuentes sa Amerika.

Noong Nobyembre, tinulungan nito ang Eagle Rock High School na masungkit ang unang upper division volleyball championship sa California Interscholastic Federation L.A. City Section Open Division.

Itinanghal na MVP si Fuentes sa naturang torneo.

Kaya naman inaasahang malaki ang maitutulong ni Fuentes sa tangka ng Lady Spikers na muling masungkit ang kampeonato.

“I chose this school because I really love the atmos­phere and everything about it and the competition as well. It’s one of the top schools in the Philippines and the amount of energy and support that the fans have is just so incredible,” ani Fuentes.

Makakasama ni Fuentes sa ratsada sina Thea Gagate, Leila Cruz, Baby Jyne Soreno at Justine Jazareno gayundin ang beteranong sina Jolina Dela Cruz at Michelle Cobb.

Kung bibigyan ng UAAP ng isa pang playing eligibility ang mga seniors, makakalaro pa para sa La Salle sina veterans Aduke Ogunsanya, Tin Tiamzon at CJ Saga.

Magugunitang tuluyang kinansela ang UAAP Season 82 dahil sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Nakaisang laro lang ang La Salle kung saan tinalo nito ang Ateneo de Manila University.
