PSC gumastos ng P500 milyon sa grassroots program

MANILA, Philippines — Umabot sa mahigit P500 milyon ang nagastos ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) para sa grassroots development program nito na nagnanais makatuklas ng mga bagong talento.

Ayon kay PSC chairman William “Butch” Ramirez, halos P340 mil­yon ang nagastos para sa iba’t ibang grassroots programs sa taong 2018 lamang habang mula E­nero hanggang Hunyo ng 2019 may P170 milyon ang nagamit ng ahensiya.

 “It is government’s commitment, as mandated to the PSC by President Duterte, to keep the people actively involved in sports. From children to citizens as old as I am, we all should have our own access to sports as the President and most members of his Cabinet do and have, from time to time,” ani Ramirez.

Sumasailalim pa ng rehabilistasyon ang ilang major facilities sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex na gagamitin hindi lamang sa 2019 Southeast Asian Games maging sa ilan pang national games sa mga susunod na taon.

Kumpiyansa si Ramirez na aabot sa tamang oras ang pagsasaayos ng v­enues bago magsimula ang SEA Games sa Nob­yembre 30.

Ilan sa mga panguna­hing programa ng PSC ang Batang Pinoy gayundin ang Children’s Games na nilalahukan ng mahigit 24,000 kabataang atleta.

Marami pang darayu­hing lugar ang Children’s Game gaya ng Marawi, Compostela Valley, Davao region at Misamis Occidental base na rin sa suhestiyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
