Jacinto, Pastolero kumuha ng ginto sa PSL National Series

MANILA, Philippines — Sumisid ng dalawang gin­tong medalya sina Alvine Jacinto at Chelsea Pas­tolero upang pamunuan ang mga gold medal win­ners sa pagsisimula ng 165th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Se­ries for Class C and Novice kahapon sa Diliman Prepa­ratory School swimming pool sa Quezon City.

Namayagpag si Jacin­to sa girls’ 7-year 50m free­style event sa bilis na 1:00.53 ka­sunod ang pana­naig sa 25m backstroke bunsod ng naitala niyang 31.16 segundo.

Nagparamdam din ng la­kas si Pastolero nang mag­­ningning sa girls’ 10-year 100m Individual Med­ley (1:34.53) at 50m butter­fly (41.16).

Umariba rin sina Mar­cus Red Dula (boys’ 7-year 25m butterfly, 23.72) Mik­haela Dula (girls’ 11-year 50m breaststroke, 48.96), Lai­za Llanillo (girls’ 50m breaststroke, 59.00), Ra­phaela Jimenez (girls’ 9-year 50m breaststroke, 56.97) at Aerich Telebangco (girls’ 5-6 50m freestyle, 1:26.25).

Nagwagi rin ng ginto si­na Sophia Rose Garra, Os­mond Peng, Jan Rey Aquino, Jhuno Perez, Ferris Espano, Conan Perez, Je­ric Cortez, Ania Novero, Naomi Quilala, Princess Baruiz, Ashley Andal, Jamie Cudilla, Natanya Aguilar, Julia Ballena at Sophia De Sola.

“All our good swimmers right now started as novice swimmers. It’s the first step to achieve excellence in the future. We want to expand this kind of competition to dis­cover young and talen­ted swimmers for future in­­­ternational tournaments,” wi­­­ka ni PSL president Ale­xandre Papa.

Ang iba pang gold me­dalists ay sina Alyssa Pa­na­hon, Rianne Aquino, An­­nalise Jandayan, Akiane Ja­­cinto, Niobe Perez, Mark Bue­naventura, Chester Cle­ridad, Duke Santos at Pau­lina Menor.

“It’s (novice/motivatio­nal) a program started by my (late) sister coach Susan Papa back in 2010. We’ll just continue her program and we’re pretty sure that she’s happy watching us from up above,” dagdag ni Papa.
