Mighty Sports masusukat sa Jones Cup
MANILA, Philippines — Muling sasabak ang Mighty Sports para kumatawan sa bansa sa 2019 Jones Cup sa Hulyo 12-21 sa Taipei.
Makakaharap ng 2017 Jones Cup champion Mighty Sports ang malalakas na koponan mula sa Iran, Japan, South Korea, Jordan at Tunisia.
“The participating teams right now are all strong, national teams lahat. So it’s much more competitive and stronger. But, we are ready, we have all the tools to compete with them,” sabi ni Mighty Sports assistant team manager Jessie Angchonghoo sa PSA Forum kahapon sa Amelie Hotel-Manila.
Si Charles Tiu, ang head cocah ng Mighty Sports ay sasandal sa mga dating PBA imports na sina Renaldo Balkman, Zachary Graham at Eugene Phelps kasama ang mga locals na sina Fil-Ams Jason Brickman, Jason Gray, Roosevelt Adams, Mikey Williams, Aaron Black, Gab Banal at Joseph Yeo.
Ito na ang ikalawang pagsali ng 35-anyos na si Yeo dahil kasama rin siya sa tropa ni coach Chot Reyes noon.
“Very excited to be back and represent the country again. At tsaka ang daming nanonood lagi (na mga Pilipino), so parang everybody is cheering for you. Masaya, masarap,” ayon kay Yeo.
Bukod kay coach Tiu, kasama rin si dating Gilas Pilipinas mentor Rajko Toroman sa coaching staff.
“He’s a very experienced coach,” pahayag ni Angchonghoo tungkol kay Toroman.
