Monsour: Magtulungan tayo para sa tagumpay ng 30th SEA Games
Sinasagot ni SEAG chief of mission Monsour del Rosario ang tanong ng media hinggil sa preparas­yon ng bansa sa 30th SEA Games. Nasa larawan din sina (mula kaliwa) TOPS president Ed Andaya ng People’s Tonight, dating swimmers Eric Buhain at national swimming coach Pinky Brosas.

MANILA, Philippines — Hinikayat ni 2019 SEAG chief of mission Monsour del Rosario ang lahat ng mga opisyales at mga atleta na magtulu­ngan para masiguro ang tagumpay ng 30th Southeast Asian Games na gaganapin dito sa bansa sa Nov. 30 hanggang sa Dec. 11 sa taong ito.

Bilang punong abala, kailangan umano ng Team Philippines na manalo ng maraming gintong medalya upang maulit ang overall championship crown ng bansa sa SEAG noong 2005 na dito rin ginanap sa Pilipinas.

“As host nation, we have to do our best to win as many gold medals as possible.  The Filipino athletes are talented enough to be the best in Southeast Asia, but we still have a lot of work to do to win the gold me­dals,” sabi ni Del Rosario sa  “Usapang Sports” ng TOPS sa  National Press Club sa Intramuros kahapon.

Ito na ang pang-apat na hosting ng Pilipinas sa SEA Games, ang una ay noong 1981 at sinundan noong 1991 kung saan runner-up ang Team Philippines sa likuran ng overall champion Indonesia. Unang nasungkit ng Pilipinas ang overall title noong 2005 sa Manila.

Nagpahayag naman ng tiwala si Del Rosario sa kakayahan nina Philippine Sports Commission chairman William Ramirez, Phi­lippine Olympic Committee president Ricky Vargas at Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) chairman Allan Peter Cayetano sa pagdaraos ng matagumpay na SEAG.

Inirekomenda ni Del Rosario sina dating taekwondo champion Stephen Fernandez, dating national rugby player Ada Milby at Netball Philippines president  Charlie Ho na maging deputy of missions.
