MANILA, Philippines — Hindi porke 39-anyos na si Manny Pacquiao ay hindi na niya kayang talunin ang mga mas bata sa kanyang boksingero.

Ito ang babala ni Sa­muel Vargas matapos talu­nin ni dating British world su­per lightweight titlist Amir Khan noong Linggo.

“I think Pacquiao’s po­wer is just too much. I think Pacquiao stops him. No dis­respect,” wika ni Vargas (29-4-2, 14 knockouts).

Tinalo ni Khan (33-4-0, 20 KOs) si Vargas via una­nimous decision sa kabila ng pagbagsak sa dulo ng se­cond round.

Kaagad tinawag ni Khan ang pangalan ni Pac­quiao (60-7-2, 40 KOs).

Ayon kay Vargas, may la­kas at bilis pa ring taglay ang Filipino world eight-division champion na maaa­ring ikagulat ni Khan sakaling matuloy ang kanilang laban sa Disyembre.

“I just think Pacquiao is a dangerous guy. It doesn’t matter how old he is. I think Pacquiao has the edge in that one,” wika ni Vargas.

Ngunit ayaw siyang pa­kinggan ng 31-anyos na si Khan at inulit ang pag­hahamon sa 39-anyos na si Pacquiao.

“I want the biggest fights and that's where I belong,” sabi ni Khan, lumalaban sa ilalim ng Matchroom Sport ni Eddie Hearn. “Me and Eddie (Hearn) are going to sit down. There is a massive demand for it but the only fight that works for me over Kell Brook is Manny Pacquiao.”

Nabigong ayusin ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Pro­mo­tions ang upakan nina Pac­quiao at Khan nang ang dalawa ay nasa kanya pang bakuran.

Nanggaling si Pacquiao sa isang seventh-round TKO victory laban kay Lucas Matthysse (39-5-0, 36 KOs) para agawin sa boxing star ng Argentina ang su­ot nitong WBA welterweight belt noong Hulyo sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“If he had the choice he wants Pacquiao,” sabi ni Hearn kay Khan, dating spar­mate ni 'Pacman' sa ila­lim ni dating chief trainer Freddie Roach. “He's always wanted the Pacquiao fight.”
