Guardo mihulma og sports tourism program

CEBU, Philippines - Sa tinguha nga i-promote ang siyudad sa Sugbo isip usa ka sports tourism hub, si konsehal Jerry L. Guardo mihulma og usa ka plataporma sa paugnat sa kusog nga naglangkob og mga elite athletes aron ikatambayayong sa establisado nang grassroots development program sa Cebu City Sports Commission.

"We want to promote Cebu City as a venue for sports tourism," matud pa ni Guardo atol sa usa ka press conference kagahapon didto sa Pino Restaurant.

"There are major sporting events happening here in Cebu each year but I noticed that there have always been a gap. There are lull months wherein some existing sports have no tournaments or no activity at all," batbat pa ni Guardo.

"That is why I am putting this program in place. For instance, we can have dragon boat to promote SRP. For our mountain barangays, we can have a local version of Tour de France. Holding a road race, mountainbike and trail run are just one of the many ways we can promote our mountain areas," dugang pa ni Guardo.

Lakip sa mga napili na ni Guardo mao ang marathon/trail run, archery, tennis, dragon boat, beach volley, indoor volleyball, mountainbike, football, badminton, martial arts (arnis, taekwondo, karatedo, wushu, judo and MMA), dancesport, swimming, chess ug basketball. Iya sab nga gikonsidera ang batted.

Sayud si Guardo nga dunay daghang mga hagit nga nagpaabot kanila sa unahan sa ilang pag-implementar niining proyekto apan andam siya nga sagubangon ang tanan.
