The joy of Easter

After the meatless period of Lent we hope the prices of seafood will now be lower.

May the joy of Easter and the Glorious Resurrection inspire us to strengthen our faith and believe there is resurrection awaiting us through all our lives.

Our faith in the goodness of humankind was re-affirmed when we met this young lady at Landers Superstore in the Alabang/Las Piñas area. We went to return an item we bought a week before and we asked to see a supervisor. We were referred to a slim pretty lady named Bernadette. She graciously listened to us and immediately offered to change the item. She took our word and agreed to credit the amount to the total of our purchases that day. We commend her attitude of total service to a customer; there should be more like her in every establishment. 

Our cook Lilia has a different way of cooking adobo, be it pork or chicken. She sautés the garlic first in little oil then adds the meat and a bit later the seasoning, vinegar, soy sauce and pepper. After it gets to a full boil, she adds sugar and continues to tenderize the meat. This way the adobo acquires a different pleasant taste.   

Post Easter lunch led us to Kenny Rogers in Solenad, Nuvali, Sta Rosa. I had grilled fish while our daughter selected the pork rib. There was a selection of sides. We chose mashed potatoes. The combo meal included two small corn muffins. It was actually a good meal, our first in that place.  

After the meatless period of Lent we hope the prices of seafood will now be lower.
