WATCH: Mexico City seeks to curb its addiction to plastic

MEXICO CITY, Mexico — Mexico City's government is promoting indigenous and other traditionally-woven baskets and reusable bags in an effort to help residents curb their addiction to plastic, now that Mexico City has banned the use of plastic bags.

"We need to re-educate ourselves. And the way to re-educate ourselves is to look back to the origin and this beginning is full of richness and proposals made by the original peoples."
