WATCH: Intelligent shopping trolleys help transport goods safely

PARIS, France — Self-driving carts which can carry your shopping or pack shelves are becoming more widespread in France.

Formally known as automatic guided vehicles, these new machines have been designed to work around the clock and provide a safer work environment on warehouse floors.

"It's not going to change my shopping habits, but it's going to help. Because I don't have to carry. It can go all the way to my house, that's what's interesting," Geneviève, supermarket customer and user of the Twinsheel intelligent trolley said.
