WATCH: Comelec Commissioner Guia explains need for audit contingency list

MANILA, Philippines — A contingency list for the Random Manual Audit Team (RMAT) is necessary in the event that a precinct from the randomly selected list will be difficult to reach, Comelec Commissioner Luie Guia said.

While there are 715 initial polling stations randomly selected to be audited, additional precincts from the RMAT's contigency list may replace difficult to reach cities and municipalities. 

Guia said that the precincts in the contingency list are also randomly selected.

The Random Manual Audit is set to begin Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the Diamond Hotel in Manila.
