WATCH: DOT gives hotels 3 months to comply with environmental laws for Manila Bay rehab
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism recently warned at least five hotels that they only have three months to comply with the environmental laws for Manila Bay in view of the rehabilitation efforts.
The DOT said they have inspected 50 hotels in Manila but only five hotels were given warning letters to arrange their sewerage system and comply with the environmental laws.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said the undisclosed hotels may be closed if they do not comply within the period given to them. She also refused to name the hotels but cited these include some big chains.
“Of course, in three months if they don't comply then their names will be mentioned but I think it's fair also to give them enough time,” she said.
