MANILA, Philippines — President Benigno Aquino III on Monday expressed disapproval over the motion to have former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo under house arrest, instead of remaining in detention in a hospital.

Aquino said the case against Arroyo, who faces charges for electoral fraud, is a grave matter, and her being under hospital arrest is already a "privilege."
