WATCH: Kris Aquino on being a 'patola'
MANILA, Philippines — “Ay, sumasagot ako!” Kris Aquino declared when asked if she replies to bashers on social media, or in colloquial social media terms, if she is a “patola.”
“I’ve learned kasi na parang if you’re ready to throw it at me, be ready for me to defend myself,” she told select members of the press, including Philstar.com, during a recent sit-down interview organized by Claritin, one of her endorsements.
During the interview, Kris enumerated the things that irk and compel her to fight back.
“’Pag ang mga binibring-up nangyari mga 14 years ago, sasabihin ko talaga, ‘Ah, hello? Wala kang mahanap na kasalanan ko from today?’ ‘Yung parang ganon, dun lang ako nagre-react. And especially ‘pag binu-bully mga anak ko,” she said.
She recalled that she once told a basher who bullied her sons: “Tell me where you are because naka-retainer sa’kin si Attorney Sig Fortun. So, mahal s’ya at magaling s’yang lawyer so kaya ko. At saka ‘pag bata eh… Any mother would be…”
According to Kris, she can take any criticism, but she cannot take those directed toward her sons.
“You can criticize me, my hair, my makeup, my kaartehan, no big deal. But if it’s integrity ng pamilya ko, if it’s my children or the legacy of my parents, ay, be ready for a fight!”
