James Yap's cryptic helmet posts baffle netizens
MANILA, Philippines — Despite the controversies he is facing, basketball star James Yap has kept his picture with son Bimby as Instagram profile picture, as well as the birthday greeting he has for his son, which triggered the anger of his former wife, Kris Aquino.
It can be recalled that in a series of Twitter posts posted on April 19, Bimby's birthday, Kris alleged James of not spending enough time with Bimby and not providing financial support for his son.
In his latest Instagram posts, James can be seen riding a motorcycle or wearing helmets, which piqued netizens’ interest.
“What’s with all these helmets/motorcycle posts lately (?),” said netizen @daratito.
Some netizens suspect James wore a helmet because the child support issue made him feel ashamed: “U must be very embrassed,” said @katdimple, “U have to have that helmet on all the time to cover the shame.”
“Walang mukhang ipakita!” noted @mayeth51.
Others, meanwhile, said James was wearing helmets as protection against Kris’s tirades: “Helmet means, to trap ‘dirts’ from the environment and to shield your head/face from any swords being thrown to you by someone,”said @jobelzyan.
“Idol isipin mo na napaka swerte mo pa rin, dahil binigyan ka ng diyos ng 3rd chance para magkaron ng magandang pamilya, napaka swerte mo at nagkaron ka ng mabait at napakagandang asawa na si michela. Idol sana pakasalan mo na sya dalawa na anak nyo para lalong mabaliw si kristeta,” added another netizen, @maximum72g.
Netizens also cannot help but notice that James captioned his helmet and motorcycle photos simply with fist bump emojis, the same emoji Kris used in some of her social media rants against him.
“Pansin ko lang puro suntok emoji ni bosing? Parang gusto na nya boxing di na basketball,” @iamcharlinsagun said.
