Cebuano Cuisine with an International Twist

CEBU, Philippines — Perched on the 16th floor of Maayo Hotel is new restaurant that defines the rich Cebuano dining culture. It is named “Ani,” which means “harvest” in the local language. The restaurant’s menu celebrates bountiful produce, infusing the traditional with the new. It weaves Malay, Chinese, Hindu, American, and European culinary influences into the Cebuano cuisine and dining culture.

The restaurant’s interiors reflect everything Cebuano, with pieces that evoke nostalgia of Cebu’s glorious past. The murals of Filipino costumes on the rear wall, the centerpiece dining table carved from a solid slab of wood reminiscent of ancestral homes, fused with modern furniture and fixtures highlight the contrast of the past and the present.

Ani Restaurant is the third dining venue in the hotel. It has two private rooms that each sits 12 persons.

Open from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and 6 to 11 p.m. for dinner, Ani Restaurant allows diners to enjoy a scenic view of the city lights with a dinner on a rooftop setting. Guests may also experience al fresco drinking and dining during the Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. daily.
