Senior citizens appeal for support

The Philippine Star

The Senior Citizens Party-List vowed that “no senior citizen will be left behind” in its statement in connection with Senior Citizens Week (or Elderly Filipino Week, observed every first week of October), promising continued work for the welfare of seniors, at the same time appealing for more support from seniors themselves, advocates and supporters.

The appeal was issued by Rodolfo M. Ordanes, 2nd Nominee for the Party-List, in an earnest effort to work more for the welfare of seniors, now that the elected representative of the Senior Citizens Party, Francisco G. Datol Jr. fell victim to COVID-19.

Ordanes vowed to pursue the work started by Cong. Datol, principal author of the National Senior Citizens Commission. Senior citizens organizations, among them the Philippine Association of Retired Persons (PARP), are urging Congress to deliberate and pass the bills filed by the late Cong. Datol. – Atty. Mafeo R. Vibal, vice president-External Affairs, Philippine Association of Retired Persons (PARP)
