Learning that moves: Voices from Metis College launch
Founded in 2023, Metis now serves over 2,000 students and offers a globally accredited MBA through partnerships with Woolf University and the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

MANILA, Philippines — At the launch of Metis College on March 29, the most compelling voices didn’t just come from the stage — they came from the floor. A panel of student ambassadors and institutional leaders shared stories of transformation, challenge, and growth, offering a clear picture of how Metis is building a different kind of educational experience.

The event, held at F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, gathered learners, educators, and leaders across industries to mark the public debut of Metis College, a globally accredited institution offering modular business education designed for professionals in motion.

“Our students are already leading, already doing the work,” said Trisha Roque-Oreta, Director of Learning at Metis. “They don’t need a break from life to learn. They need education that moves with them — and gives them room to grow in real time.”

Student ambassadors echoed that.

“The best part of Metis is that it doesn’t feel like a classroom,” said Dreya Evangelista.

“It’s space to listen, reflect, and grow— not just for grades, but for real conversations about who we’re becoming.” Migs Martinez added. “Everything I learn, I use the same week. Courses like negotiation and relationship management directly help me with clients and vendors. It’s not abstract — it’s real.”

For Khail Macadaeg, an international immersion in London was a turning point: “Being at Oxford changed how I saw myself. I realized I belonged in global spaces.”

The panel also highlighted the role of listening and rhythm in leadership.

“One thing I’ll always remember is something Trisha said: ‘Use the right ear to reach the right ear,’” Evangelista recalled. “Good communication starts with listening.”

Shawntel Nieto reframed leadership as rhythm — not balance. “When your work matches your values, you don’t burn out. You build.”

Francis Kong echoed the theme with a call to clarity: “Burnout isn’t always about too much work. Sometimes, it’s about borrowed purpose. You need to define your own.”

Together, these voices captured what Metis stands for: learning that’s not paused, but lived. Or, as the school’s tagline puts it: Leap before you look.
