Metis College launches in Manila, offers new model for business education
Founded in 2023, Metis now serves over 2,000 students and offers a globally accredited MBA through partnerships with Woolf University and the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

MANILA, Philippines — Metis College officially launched last Saturday, March 29, 2025, at F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, introducing a new model for business education built for professionals who want more than credentials — such as relevance, movement and real-world application.

Founded in 2023, Metis now serves over 2,000 students and offers a globally accredited MBA through partnerships with Woolf University and Oxford Online Programmes through collaboration with Saïd Business School - University of Oxford. Its mission is clear: build capability through education that doesn’t pause life, but moves with it.

“We created Metis for people who move — people who don’t wait for perfect conditions,” said Trisha Roque-Oreta, Director of Learning Experience at Metis. “Education here isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about developing the kind of leadership that knows how to navigate uncertainty with clarity and purpose.”

Named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and deep thought, Metis offers a modular MBA designed for working professionals. Courses run in eight-week terms, with monthly start dates and a progression model that moves from foundational skills to applied strategy to a final capstone challenge.

“Everything I learn, I can use the next day,” said Migs Martinez, an Athena Scholar who works full-time in client strategy. “This isn’t education for someday. It’s designed for now.”

Metis is a full member of Woolf University, a globally recognized institution offering ECTS-accredited degrees. These credentials are internationally transferable, valued by employers, and designed to support mobility across borders, industries, and career stages. Whether you’re accelerating toward leadership, re-entering the workforce, or converting experience into a recognized qualification, the Metis MBA offers flexible, stackable options to grow with purpose. Through its collaboration with Saïd Business School - University of Oxford, students also gain access to faculty, certificate of attendance, credentials, and the Saïd Business School’s global e-lumni network — opening doors to one of the world’s most prestigious institutions.

At the launch, student ambassadors shared how the program shaped their growth.

“The best part of Metis is that it doesn’t feel like a classroom,” said Dreya Evangelista.

“It’s space to listen, reflect, and grow — not just for grades, but for real conversations about who we’re becoming,” Martinez added. “Courses like negotiation and relationship management help me with clients the same week I take them. It’s not abstract — it’s real.”

For Khail Macadaeg, an international immersion in London was transformative: “Being at Oxford changed how I saw myself. I realized I belonged in global spaces.”

Shawntel Nieto, a social impact entrepreneur and educator, spoke about leadership as rhythm — not balance. “When your work matches your values, you don’t burn out. You build.”

Francis Kong, who delivered the keynote, left a final reminder: “Burnout isn’t always about too much work. Sometimes, it’s about borrowed purpose. You need to define your own.”

With new programs and global partnerships on the horizon, Metis offers a future-facing alternative to traditional business education. As its founding ethos puts it: Leap before you look. The college’s logo — a triangle for foundation, a half-moon for forward motion — reflects what Metis offers: wisdom in motion.
