BALANGA CITY  , Philippines  —  Two more public elementary schools will soon receive a two-story, four-classroom building each from SM Prime Holdings Inc. through SM Foundation.

A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held at the Balanga Elementary School in Balanga City, Bataan, where a fully furnished new schoolbuilding will be turned over by June in time for the opening of school year 2019-2020.

Balanga Mayor Francis Garcia was represented by city administrator Rudy de Mesa at the groundbreaking, which was also attended by Balanga Elementary School principal Amy Ed Inieto, Department of Education (DepEd) and local government officials of Balanga, and SM Foundation Schoolbuilding Program coordinator Juris Umali-Soliman.

Meanwhile, in Butuan City, SM’s school building team has finalized the ocular and evaluation of four DepEd-recommended public schools to be the recipient of a new schoolbuilding, with Villa Kananga Elementary School chosen as the beneficiary.

DepEd-Butuan officials, led by schools division superintendent Romeo Aprovechar; Atty. Glenn Carampatana, representing the mayor’s office; and school officials with Umali-Soliman went to the site of the new schoolbuilding.
