Online seller tax

DEAR DJ Jacky G. - Jacky G. - Banat

Dear DJ Jacky G.,

Nagplano ko nga mag-business online.  Mamaligya ko og beauty products ug RTW.  Dapat ba ko mubayad og tax ana nga online ra man? — TNY

Dear TNY,

As per an article from www.full-suite.com: “The BIR stands by the law that states all Filipinos earning income within the country are subject to pay corresponding taxes. The bureau adds that online business offering goods and services are no different from merchants with physical stores or offices, thus must be subjected to paying taxes.” In short, yes.  Kinahanglan gihapon mubayad og taxes ang online sellers.  As to the nitty gritty of it, you would need to consult a tax-paying online seller, accountant or bookkeeper.
