Communication challenge

SINABI ni Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar na ibabalik na ang PCOO sa Office of the Press Secretary at gagawing Press Secretary si Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.

May balita rin na si Andanar mismo ay ma-aapoint daw na presidential political adviser replacing former Metro Manila Development Authority chair Francis Tolentino na tatakbong senador sa May 2019 midterm polls. 

Hinihintay pa rin ang desisyon ni Roque kung siya nga ay tuluyan nang bibitiw bilang presidential spokesman at hindi niya tatanggapin ang alok sa kanyang maging Press Secretary dahil nga tatakbo siya sa Senado sa 2019 elections. 

Marami pa ang puwedeng mangyari lalo’t parating na ang filing ng certificate of candidacy.

Ngunit ang tanong ay paano na ngayon ang communications team ni President Duterte?

Kung tutuusin, medyo may problema nga ang PCOO sa mga nagdaang higit dalawang taong panunungkulan ni President Duterte.

Si dating PCOO Undersecretary Mocha Uson ay totoong naging pabigat na sa ahensiyang ito to some extent.

Ngunit ang problema sa PCOO ay hindi lang naman si Mocha. Ngayong umalis na si Mocha, maging effective na ba ang PCOO sa pagpaabot ng mensahe ng Duterte administration sa sambayanan?

Tanong lang --- has the PCOO, with all the agencies and offices under it,  effectively communicated government to the people through those more than two years after it was  formed?

Has the government’s communication team been able to address effectively whatever crisis that arose through those times?

Kaya naman balik tayo sa tanong uli na this time ba ay may mission, vision, goal at direction na ang communications team ni President Duterte?

Well, it remains to be seen --- and it is always worth remembering because the challenge stays --- effectively communicate government to the people.
