3K pulis sa Central Luzon, full alert na kay �Betty

MANILA, Philippines — Dahil sa pinangangambahang matinding epekto ng super typhoon Betty sa Central Luzon, isinailalim na sa full alert status ang Police Regional Office (PRO)-3.

Nasa 3,000 pulis ang naka-standby para sa di­saster response sa mga lalawigang nasasaklaw ng Central Luzon, ayon kay PRO-3 director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. Kabilang dito ang Aurora, Nueva Ecija,  Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga at Bulacan na posibleng bayuhin din ng matitinding pag-ulan at malakas na hangin ng bagyong Betty.

Inihayag ni Hidalgo, nakahanda na ang kanilang mga tauhan para sa disaster response operations kung saan nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa lokal na Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) para tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng publiko.

“I have instructed all unit commanders to conduct pre-deployment briefing to our men on the ground for precautionary measures as we also want our personnel to be safe during natural disasters and emergencies,” ayon sa opisyal.

Samantala, umapela rin si Hidalgo sa publiko partikular na ang mga nani­nirahan sa mababang lugar na delikado sa flashflood at maging sa mga landslide na makipagkooperasyon sa disaster preparedness ng lokal na pamahalaan.

Samantala, minobilisa na ng Philippine Army ang Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) personnel at assets nito sa gitna na rin ng paghagupit ni Super typhoon Betty (Mawar) sa Northern Luzon at Batanes Group of Islands.

“The Philippine Army, in keeping with the spirit of “Bayanihan”, will work closely with national go­vernment agencies, local government units, and non-government organizations, to help our fellow Filipinos who will be affected by the super typhoon,” pahayag ni Philippine Army Commanding General Romeo Brawner Jr.

Sinabi naman ni Col. Xerxes Trinidad, spokesman ng Philippine Army, ang ginawang paghahanda ay tugon sa posibleng ma­tinding epekto na maaaring idulot ni Super typhoon Betty sa mga lugar na hahambalusin nito. Kabilang sa minobilisa ay ang Disaster Response Units mula sa  Army Support Command, Installation Management Command, Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Army Signal Regiment, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Finance Center Philippine Army at ang Army Personnel Management Center na nasa Philippine Army Headquarters sa Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
