Piolo, gustong ipakita ang pagmamahal sa ‘Pinas

Simula June 8 ay mapapanood na ang Ibarra na pinagbibidahan ni Piolo Pascual.

Aminado ang aktor na talagang nakararam­dam na ng pressure ngayon lalo pa’t mahigit tatlong dekada na siyang hindi nakagawa ng stage play. “The pressure is on, it’s daunting. It’s a new territory for me. It’s something I have never done. Before I did stage plays back in college but 30 years down the road it’s like, it grows on me, every rehearsal. The red curtain that I saw, the velvet curtain from the stage, it was just overwhelming for me but it’s quite an experience. You know, getting out of your comfort zone, it’s always a challenge but it’s quite rewarding after that. So, I’m just looking forward seeing the audience and seeing it come to life. I guess I’m up for the challenge,” nakangiting pahayag ni Piolo.

Ayon sa aktor ay 18 kanta ang kanyang inaral at ipapamalas sa mga manonood ng naturang musical play. “I’ve been sober for two weeks and it’s the first time. I’m just really happy that I get to be disciplined this way because of this certain motivation. It’s nice feeling to do something that really shakes you to your nerves. I don’t know what to expect.

“But you don’t want to rest on your laurels and breeze your way through. As much as I couldn’t sleep before, now I’m more than excited than nervous because it’s all taking shape. It’s all just happening before my very eyes and everyone is so supportive, everyone is just being around you and to be surrounded by these talented people, nakaka-boost ng morale,” paglalahad niya.

Umaasa si Piolo na isasaisip ng ating mga kababayan lalo na ng kabataan ang naging bahaging ito ng kasaysayan. “I want to fight for my country in my own way. And this one is one of the ways that I can do to showcase this kind of story. I guess it resonates with me in such a way that I have this love for my country. This is my way of showing what I can do to not just to influence but to just make people aware of our history and our story and how we can be a beacon of hope for people to do something for the betterment of our lives,” makahulugang pahayag ng aktor.

Romnick,‘Di naintindihan kung ba’t nanalong best actor

Kabi-kabila ang proyektong ginagawa ni Romnick Sarmenta ngayon.

Matatandaang tinanghal na Best Actor para sa pelikulang About Us But Not About Us si Romnick sa ginanap na Summer Metro Manila Film Festival kamakailan.

Malaki ang pasasalamat ng aktor dahil kahit mahigit 40 taon na sa show business ay aktibo pa rin. “Malaking bagay ‘yung nakita nila sa pagkakapanalo. Hanggang ngayon hindi ko pa rin maintindihan kung ba’t ako nanalo pero maraming salamat. Part ‘yon para maalala ng iba na nagtatrabaho pa pala siya. Kasi karamihan ng nasa generation namin medyo ‘di ganoon ka-active. So may question lagi na, ‘Does he still accept work?’” bungad ni Romnick.

Kabilang si Romnick sa iWantTFC series na Teen Clash at Drag You & Me. Mapapanood din ang aktor sa seryeng Unbreak My Heart. May mga pagkakataon na raw na tumanggi si Romnick sa mga alok sa kanyang proyekto. “There was a time na hindi ako tumatanggap ng trabaho. I guess when you keep saying no often enough, they start thinking hindi na siya interesado. When people see your work, pwede pa pala. It would be great it’s better to say, every year is our year if we’re willing to work, we’re willing to put on and apply ourselves and hopefully everybody notices that kahit hindi mo itanong,” paliwanag niya. — Reports from JCC
