A challenging time
This election, unlike others in the past, indeed is a harsh, noisy, divisive, challenging time for us:
When moral compass is lost in quest for wealth and power;
When false news, trolls dominate social media to muddle issues;
When the varying colors of the presidential candidates define the election;
When vote buying has evolved in different ways/shapes to evade charges;
When the “hakot” system has become a prevalent practice to show massive crowds to fool voters;
When election has become a lucrative business and source of power for certain families for decades;
When candidates shift political parties like a revolving door for personal interests;
When bad candidates are repackaged to look good;
When surveys are looked at with disdain, doubts and suspicions;
When sectors of society are pitted against each other because of presidential preferences;
When truth is subjugated under the deceitful schemes of propagandists;
When the election pits evil versus good;
When voters’ suffrage is sacred no more;
May the BEST candidate emerge triumphantly to uplift lives of our kababayans and propel our beloved land to the path of peace and prosperity!
Peace, good health, abundance to us all!
