President Sergio Osmeña’s appointees in Samar - Part 3

Don Sergio Suico Osmeña Sr., the only Cebuano who became president, became the liberator president and rebuilt the country by appointing officials to govern the local government units. He made the Provincial Capitol of Leyte in Tacloban City as the national capitol and held office thereat. The Leyte-Samar Provinces used to compose what was known as the 9th Senatorial District. Here were his appointees in the Province of Samar (now divided into Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, and Western Samar):

Mamerta de Obong, Ramon Doinog, Ildefonso de Padua, and Raymundo Milca, appointed acting councilors of Santa Margarita, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Ricardo Palacio, appointed acting mayor, and Atanacio D. Beltran, acting vice mayor of San Antonio, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Ramon Mahilon, Eufracio Manaog, Pablo Escal, Fernando Prudenciado, Francisco Mondigo, and Eusebio Gordo, appointed acting councilors of San Antonio, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Arsenio C. Tan, appointed acting mayor, and Quirico S. Abalon, acting vice mayor of Pambujan, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Sixto Balanguit, Feliza J. Tan, Isidro G. Morales, Silvino D. Lubos, and Emilio Sosing, appointed acting councilors of Pambujan, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Rafael A. Gumba, appointed acting mayor, and Felipe M. Espina, acting vice mayor of Palapag, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Alejandro Sidro, Teresa Odtojan Capate, Jesus O. Majuelo, Flaviano Hermano, and Pantaleon Alvaria, appointed acting councilors of Palapag, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Patricio Barandino, appointed acting mayor, and Apolinar Alorro, acting vice mayor of Oquendo, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Bruno Orquin, Gliceria David, Rufino Pdio, Roberto Ramirez, Pelayo Baculpo, and Crispina de Guia, appointed acting councilors of Oquendo, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Rufo I. de Guia, appointed acting mayor, and Crisostomo C. Rivas, acting vice mayor of Mondragon, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Dalmacio T. Malobago, Melecio Tuballas, Victor Lagrimas, and Filoteo M. Montes, appointed acting councilors of Mondragon, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Pascual M. Clutardo, appointed acting mayor, and Alvaro Lomentigar, acting vice mayor of Lavezares, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Leon Espina, Antonio Martinez, Estanislao Orzotino, and Cresente Galvez, appointed acting councilors of Lavezares, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Cirilo Balagapo, appointed acting mayor, and Regino Amigo, acting vice mayor of Sulat, Samar, October 5, 1945.

Juan Balagapo, Eugenio Macabasag, Domingo O. Palileo, and Valeriano Palileo, appointed acting councilors of Sulat, Samar, October 6, 1945. (To be continued)
