Islamists against Xi

In her WION Gravitas broadcast the Indian host Palki Sharma Upadhyay wonders why the Islamic World does not speak up against the genocide of the Uyghur Muslims in Chinese-occupied Xinjiang Province. Forced sterilization, abortion, and organ harvesting are common. In 1949 when Mao annexed East Turkestan the percentage of Uyghurs was 76% and that of Han Chinese 6%. Today the relation is 42% to 40%, meaning the Han will supplant them soon.

This is evident in Xi’s Pair-up Family Program: Chinese men invade the houses and live with the women whose husbands are in prisons and camps. It is state-imposed rape. The Han indoctrinate all and teach the children Mandarin. By and by the Uyghurs will be assimilated. The mixed kids are forced to have Chinese names. Resistance is punished by deprivation of food, water, and sleep.

Of course the Communists deny all this. They call the camps ‘vocational education centers’. In reality they are huge factories where the Uyghurs are forced to produce articles for export.

The United Nations Genocide Convention was passed in 1948. China is a signatory along with 151 other countries. Article II reads: “Genocide is an attempt to commit acts with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.” All applies to Xi’s acts.

Palki blames the five most vocal defenders of the Islamic faith for remaining silent on the unspeakable atrocities committed by Han against the 12 million people of Turkic ethnicity. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, and Malaysia prefer China’s money over religion and human rights.

Just lately, The Frustrated Indian (TFI Global) broadcaster Sanbeer Sing Ranhotra revealed that Islamic State, al-Qaeda, Turkestan Islamic Party, Tehric-i-Taliban Pakistan and many other Islamist organizations have declared China an enemy. They are fomenting anti-China sentiments in their countries, exerting pressure to their respective governments to overhaul their foreign policy towards China.

The Islamist organizations perceive China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as an imperialist and colonizing attempt that is actively expanding its economic, ideological and military footprint into the 30 Islamic countries on the BRI in order to exploit their natural resources. They fear that China will eradicate Islam and replace it with Xi thought in these countries.

The Islamists are furious that Chinese companies forbid the Muslims to do their daily prayers. Some clerics preach hate in the mosques.

In Pakistan they attack and damage the Chinese machines and assets. They have already beheaded several BRI workers in Pakistan and also Afghanistan. They have attacked China embassies in Kyrgyzstan, Syria, and Somalia.

The belligerence of highly-motivated and partly war-experienced groups must not be underestimated. Xi’s revolting crimes may call numerous youths from all countries to join the jihad as many did before in Syria, Iraq, and Marawi. With financial support from Muslims they can acquire the armament and in the training camps in Pakistan they can learn how to handle them. A Caliphate in Urumqi will test Xi’s People’s Liberation Army.
