President Sergio Osmeña’s appointees in Negros Oriental - Part 2

Don Sergio Suico Osmeña Sr., who became the first and only Cebuano to become president, took his oath in the United States on August 1, 1944 upon the death of President Quezon. He came to the Philippines on October 20, 1944 together with Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the famous, Leyte Landings. Osmeña made the Leyte Provincial Capitol as his office. The following were his appointees in the Province of Negros Oriental:

Alejandro A. Tan, appointed acting mayor of Sibulan, Negros Oriental, September 15, 1945.

Ignacio G. Longa, appointed acting mayor of Manjuyod, Negros Oriental, September 15, 1945.

Roman G. Absin, appointed acting mayor of La Libertad, Negros Oriental, September 15, 1945.

Norberto S. Pareja, appointed acting mayor of Ayuquitan, Negros Oriental, September 15, 1945.

Maximo R. Enardecido, appointed acting mayor of Ayungon, Negros Oriental, September 15, 1945.

Cornelio Padayhag, appointed acting mayor of Larena, Negros Oriental, October 3, 1845.

Eusebio Cornelio, appointed acting mayor of Tolong, Negros Oriental, September 30, 1945.

Felipe Asok, appointed acting mayor of Maria, Negros Oriental, September 30, 1945.

Narciso Infante, appointed acting vice mayor of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, September 30, 1945.

Eduvigio Ruperto and Antipas Cariño, appointed acting councilors of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, September 30, 1945.

David Trasmonte, appointed acting vice mayor of Ayuquitan, Negros Oriental, September 30, 1945.

Luis Transmonte, Pedro Montenegro, Simeon Larena and Sergio Ra-agas, appointed acting councilors of Ayuquitan, Negros Oriental, September 30, 1945. (End of series)
