Xi Jinping’s sins

READER’S VIEWS - The Freeman

Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative is a comprehensive plan unique in history. It could bring unprecedented progress to all mankind, diminish poverty, bring prosperity to remote places on the planet and foster cordial relations by people to people meetings and many more.

But, unfortunately, Xi has messed up all.

Instead of seeking friendship he offends the host countries by spying and subverting their order and mingling in their inner affairs.

Instead of keeping peace he occupies parts of his neighbors’ land and marine territory and threatens them with war.

Instead of observing fair trade rules he subventions state-owned companies in order to eliminate competitors so that as monopolists they can dictate the prices.

Instead of furthering private entrepreneurs he hampers small and medium enterprises with an endless range of chicaneries.

Instead of sticking to contracts he breaches them as he breached the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration on Hong Kong.

Instead of sticking to the contract on cooperation with France that built and equipped the Wuhan Institute of Virology in 2002, Xi denied access to the provided 50 French virologists and transformed the facility into the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory in order to produce bioweapons.

Instead of respecting the ruling of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague he continues to enforce his arbitrary 9 dash line in the South China Sea.

Instead of letting people practice their beliefs, language, habits he forces them to give up their religion, to speak Mandarin, to give up fishing and farming and to become factory workers.

Instead of letting Chinese people enjoy living in their houses, he demolishes entire city districts and builds high-rise buildings that no one wants to live in.

Instead of using sister city exchanges with foreign people for convivial exchange of opinions all topics about life in China that foreigners want to learn about are taboo.

And instead to grant his own people the right to determine their leaders in free and democratic elections Xi pushed his communist rubberstamp congress to let him reign authoritarian for life time.

This enumeration is by far not complete but shows the wolf-warriors evil tactics.

Now that the 5 eye powers and smaller democracies world-wide have united against his hegemonic aspirations he is wondering why none of the nations for which he indisputably has done so much good is siding with China. The materialistic atheist cannot understand that there is more than money to peoples’ happiness. Freedom, justice and human rights are none of his concerns.
