Cebu City logs 61 new cases

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City has recorded 61 new coronavirus cases yesterday.

The bulk of those cases come from Barangay Sambag 2, which recorded at least 16 cases.

The other recorded cases were from Barangay Suba with seven; Barangay Basak Pardo with five; Barangay Ermita with five; Barangay Labangon with four; and three each from Barangays Bo. Luz, Camputhaw, and Sambag 1.

Barangays Duljo, Pardo, Punta and Inayawan had two cases each.

Also, one case each was added in Barangays Basak San Nicolas, Mambaling, Pahina Central, Quiot, San Roque, Tinago, and Guadalupe.

The total active cases in the city have reached to 1,290.

Mayor Edgardo Labella said that these new cases are backlog cases.

“As of today, because of the backlog of cases, there is an additional 61 cases. These are backlog cases but there are also recoveries, as of now our recovery rate is almost 50 percent,” said Labella.

The City Health Department (CHD) recorded 12 new recoveries yesterday. All of which are from Barangay Luz.

This brings the total number of those who recovered at 1,188.  GAN (FREEMAN)
