Isko Moreno is the next big thing in Philippine politics

WHAT MATTERS MOST - Atty. Josephus Jimenez - Agence France-Presse

Isko represents the future, clean and dynamic. Clean of graft and of pollution, and dynamic for change, progress, and massive development. Isko represents hope for the masses, for the youth, for the poor, and for the marginalized.

With all due respect, Inday Sara is too much of a Duterte, too much of a traditionalist, and too much of the cavalier and high-handed approaches to solving problems and making changes, bypassing the law and trying to make the end justify the means. She can be a good senator, better than Bato dela Rosa, but for her to be president? I am not really sure. And Bongbong Marcos is too much of a Marcos, too much identified with the family that controlled the land for 20 years and made the Philippines the sick old man in Asia. Grace Poe is no longer that hot, after her husband was reported to have a very big conflict (during the 2016 presidential campaign) with Chiz Escudero on the handling of campaign funds. Both Sara and Grace are potentials as vice presidential bets.

Cynthia Villar is good only until the Senate. She can be a good vice president, but another Villar aiming at the presidency is too much financial burden to the Villar business empire. They lost billions the last time Manny Villar ran against PNoy. And they reportedly poured in billions, too, into President Duterte's campaign and in the last senatorial elections where Cynthia edged out Grace Poe from the top spot. It was a very expensive campaign, though it paid off. With Mark Villar in a very juicy Cabinet post and the youngest Villar daughter and Mark's wife also in Congress. The Villars are a big dynasty now. But they are not really destined for the presidency. They make good business. They won’t get the presidency.

The hottest thing is Isko. All taipans are pledging millions to him and even more. He has the vision and the passion. He can make things happen. He is capable of making quick and high-risk decisions. He is not too well-educated like GMA no too hard at learning. He went to Harvard and to UP. He took quick and practical courses. Isko is a fast learner. He accepts more experienced and wiser men to mentor him. Isko is not too proud as not to accept advice from more learned persons. He also reads a lot and talks to people who have demonstrated themselves in various fields of human endeavors. In too short a time, Isko demonstrated that changes are possible and we do need to pass new laws to make things happen.

Isko cleaned up Divisoria, and the vicinity of the City Hall, and the Post Office. He disciplined the city workers and gave examples of punctuality and hard work. He has visions of world-class Manila hospitals and universities. He simplifies procedures of paying taxes and licensing and makes the City Hall personnel work like corporate personnel. Of course, he meets so many obstacles but he is relentless and unyielding. He creates very practical solutions to old problems. He thinks outside of the box. He hires unorthodox people and make people work together even if they do not like each other.

If and when Isko needs our help to reach his ultimate dream, we should not hesitate to support him.
