Choose genuine servant leaders

Election Day is just four days away. Until then, can we all join as a nation and pray this 8 p.m. daily prayer: “Thank You, dear God, for Your grace for a clean, honest, peaceful election of Your genuine servant leaders. Amen.”

We need to pray as a nation for God to bless and heal our land, our people. Let us pray for Him to guide our people to vote those who can truly serve Him and our people. More than ever, we are asked to vote, not for our selfish needs, but for the glory of God, for the sake of our people and our country.

Let us pray that no one is tempted to sell his/her vote. Let us also pray that no candidate or supporter will want to tempt voters with money in exchange for their votes. May the candidates and supporters be enlightened to do God’s will, not the will of their mortal leader. May the candidates and supporters not have and serve any other god.

May all those assigned to protect our voters and their votes also be touched by God to follow His way, their conscience, not the scent of money or the promise of rewards. We pray for those in Comelec, those in the military and the police, those assigned in polling places, those who will take care of the votes, those who will transport and canvass the votes to be guided by God’s truth, by God’s grace.

Let this election be a spiritual exercise and expression of all to vote for God’s chosen, genuine servant leaders, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and God’s grace. How to discern those chosen by God, His genuine servant leaders?

Do the candidates follow or serve any other god but our true God? Do the candidates, who by their actions and words, respect God and not allow anyone to disrespect God? Look for those who do not use foul language, those who speak for and defend God. Avoid those who speak ill of Him or those who blindly follow and applaud those who disrespect God.

The true servant leaders also follow God’s justice. These genuine candidates are those who honor everyone’s right to life and to be declared innocent until proven guilty. These are candidates who are guided by God’s truth about what is right and wrong, not by lies, not by false or incomplete data, and they do not start or tolerate fake news.

These are candidates who are truly pro-people, those who are running on concrete, clear agenda intended for the welfare and care of Filipinos. These are the candidates who are dedicated and committed to protecting our people our nation, not themselves or any one leader or any foreign country.

These are humble and highly qualified candidates, whose life style, education and achievements show excellence in their specialization and service for our people.

Not corrupt. These honest genuine servant leaders will not steal public funds. They do not need any political backer; they honor and sincerely appreciate partners and volunteers who believe in participative campaign and governance.

They are against dictatorship, political dynasties and patronage that divide our nation and our people vs. those in/with power and those without, the wealthy vs. the poor, the strong vs the weak, the evil vs good.

Maka-Diyos, makabayan, makatao, makakalikasan, these candidates are pro-God, pro-truth, true nationalists, pro-Filipino people, and protective of our environment.

Vote with God’s guidance.
