A Lenten reflection for our faithful friends

SHOOTING STRAIGHT - Valeriano Avila - The Freeman

Since it is already the season of Lent and we are now in its fourth week, allow me to speak about what is happening to the Catholic Church, which the mainstream media seems to have avoided, except when it finds some kind of news to attack the Catholic Church. But for more than a year already, the pedophile epidemic, which was often not revealed to the public, has finally been publicly exposed. The conservatives and liberals are at war over liturgy, ecumenism, and dogma. The wolves, under the leadership of Satan, are disguised as sheep to sow confusion and destroy the Catholic Church.

First of all, let us remind the Catholic faithful of what our Lord Jesus Christ told St. Peter and his disciples that you can read in Matt.16: 18 “So I now say to you; you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of the Hell shall not prevail against it.” So no matter what negative reports we get, only the weak Catholics whose faith needs to be strengthened leave the Catholic Church.

These days, the Catholic Church is already in crisis, as prophesied by Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Akita, and Our Lady Mediatrix of All Grace, the same lady we know from different eras. Please take note that every now and then, social media comes up with the history of the dark side of the Catholic Church, the sins of popes, cardinals, and priests since the Middle Ages up to today. They were clearly the plot of Satan to embarrass the Catholic Church and bring it down. Fortunately, the Catholic Church has only continued to grow.

So when we read about the exposure of pedophiles, homosexual bishops and priests in the news or in the social media, do not lose your faith in the Church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ. Rather, during this Lenten season let us pray for those bishops and priests whom Satan was able to tempt to follow him so they too can be forgiven by God. In the same manner we must pray for drug addicts and those mothers who sell their daughters to foreign pedophiles using the internet to earn money with the excuse that their daughters were not abused or touched by these criminals. We must find ways to educate these mothers and find jobs for them to feed their families.

At this point, we must pray for the Catholic Church to heal this crisis, and for the pedophiles and homosexuals whose crimes have been prophesied by the Blessed Virgin Mary when she appeared in many places, in Europe, Japan, and in Lipa. Of course, we want justice for the victims of their crimes and we want justice for the bishops and cardinals who participated in those crimes, and to help keep these crimes under the very noses of the faithful and the media. Therefore, we ask our Church leaders to reform the Catholic Church and be more open to the attacks of homosexuals or pedophiles especially within our seminaries.

Therefore, we ask the entire Filipino Catholic faithful that for this coming Holy Week we must offer our prayers for our Church leaders, Pope Francis, our cardinals, bishops and priests to show Satan that no matter what he does, he can never destroy the Catholic Church as promised by our Lord, Jesus Christ who created this church. With the election season now in full swing, we hope that the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines will not have anything to do with the elections. After all, it is a very local election, except for the 12 senators we need to elect.

Since we are on the subject of our religious beliefs, we read in the news that the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, will finally implement on Wednesday the law approved in 2014 punishing adultery and homosexual sex with death. Anyone found guilty of the offenses will be stoned to death, according to a new penal code based on Sharia law, an Islamic legal system that outlines strict corporal punishments.

Accordingly, Sultan Bolkiah does not expect some people to accept and agree with this very harsh law, but it would suffice if they just respect the nation in the same way that it also respects them, according to the government website. Of course, the whole world has chastised Brunei for implementing this law, but like it or not they are a sovereign nation and we should respect their laws.
