Doc overcharges for “bit role”

BARELY THERE. An EAR source who was preparing to settle the medical bills of a relative was surprised to see that a doctor who was barely part of the treatment was charging more for his services compared to other specialists who attended to his relative more visibly.

He said he brought the issue up with the hospital, however the management said they have no control over how much the doctor charges because he was a consultant, hence not their employee.

In the end, he had no choice but to pay an amount he deemed unfair.
