Why alliances matter

ROSES AND THORNS - Pia Roces Morato - The Philippine Star

Great leadership can be measured by how one is able to form valuable alliances.

Also seen as a tool of influence, an alliance is defined by purpose.

A good alliance serves an end being the common goal. It provides a network of trusted sources who also share in the risks.

Forming alliances entails a skilled leader who is capable of forming diverse teams, and is backed up by the purpose they are defined by as this provides a solid ground.

While history tells us many stories of alliances, the most important lesson  to remember from them all is the fact that great alliances work with great effort. It entails an attitude of collaboration – an ingredient that leads to success.

Since a shared goal is what defines a good alliance, the synergy among members provides better outcomes than efforts made individually.

This for me sums up everything I witnessed last Monday Aug. 13, during the signing of the alliance agreement among at least eight national and local parties which took place at the Blue Leaf Filipinas in Parañaque City.

It was here where commitments were forged and a message of peace and unity was given by the chairman of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago, none other than the Mayor of Davao City, Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio, who is proving to everyone, that added strengths while sharing one goal is the key to a winning alliance.
