Rallos’ kid: SOCO report indicates no drugs found

CEBU, Philippines — Almost a week after the death of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) officer Baby “Earl” Rallos, his family breaks their silence and questioned the suspected shabu found in his vehicle.

His family, who chose not to show their faces on camera and reveal their names for security purposes, told reporters that they only just aired their side because they didn’t want the issue to escalate further.

“Nakuha na pud nako ang report inventory sa SOCO, dated July 27.  If I am not mistaken, wala’y nakabutang nga shabu nga nakuha, so usa sad na sa atong gitan-aw karon.  Di mi makaingon nga planted, pero motuo mi nga dili to iyaha, dili to gikan niya, og labaw sa tanan di to niya dad-on, padulong sa among balay,” one of his children said.

“Kami ni-prefer mohilom na lang kay di mi ganahan ma-sensationalize, palamian og storya, mapun-an.  Ang amo lang huwaton lang ta namo ang investigation,” he added.

The younger Rallos pointed out that they do not believe that the drugs were owned by the victim.

They said that it was his father’s habit to leave his car out in the open, parked in front of their house.

According to them, Rallos was on his way home, to get his wife, to celebrate later in a mall located in the North Reclamation Area (NRA) for his promotion to Investigation Agent 3 last July 16.  The post is just two steps away from being an assistant regional director.

“Si Papa, padung sa among balay, padung sila kita ni mama.  Mangadto sila SM, kay mag-celebrate sila, kay bag-o na-promote si Papa. Naa pud siya kaso nga nahuman, so adunay mga butang nga angay isilibrar atong adlawa,” his child said.

The family is also apprehensive on where to put their trust, following the recent incident which killed PO3 Eugene Calumba, who was allegedly out to go after former barangay captain and now barangay kagawad Jessielou Cadungog.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 has emphasized, in their joint interview, though that Calumba and the motorcycle driver Michael Banua were out conducting surveillance.

“Pero in terms pud og investigation, kami wala mi kahibaw asa namo ibutang among pagsalig, labi na sa nahitabo sa Tejero.  Kay medyo di ra man sad siguro kami ang nakahuna-huna sa connection.  Labi na sa miaging mga panghitabo. Labi na naa nakuha nga kinabuhi,” the younger Rallos said.

Asked if they still have full trust and confidence in the police, the family opted to wait for the outcome of the investigation.

“Dili lang sa mi motingog bahin ana, i-rely na lang namo ang investigation sa mga authorities.  Tan-awon lang sa namo ang dagan ani, kung unsa pa among mabuhat, kana lang sa sa pagkakaron,” the family said.

In a previous interview with PRO-7 Director Debold Sinas, he said investigators also wanted clarification from PDEA-7 as to why Rallos was found with 56.9 grams of suspected shabu worth more than P600,000 in market value.

“We also asked them, to give us an idea why agent Rallos has 56.9 grams of shabu in his trunk line.  Because that is important to us, because it might lead to the suspects,” Sinas said.

He said that, so far, a Special Investigation Task Group has been formed lead by Chief Inspector Macatangay and supervised by Senior Superintendent Royina Garma, director of the Cebu City Police Office.

The police and PDEA-7 are looking at on work-related matters and drugs as possible motives.  So far, they have not identified the two persons of interest caught by a closed-circuit television in one of the houses along Oprra, Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City. — GAN (FREEMAN)
