Man faces drug charges for selling P6 million shabu

Mylen P. Manto - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — A 27-year-old man who is allegedly on the drug watchlist of Mambaling Police Station is facing a non-bailable offense before the court for allegedly selling drugs and for having in his possession P6 million worth of shabu.

Prosecutor II Ma. Liza Jorda recommended the filing of a case against Reneil Monceda, a resident of Sitio Lawis Alaska, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

Monceda was arrested on July 7 at about 11:50 p.m. in a buy-bust operation.

An informant came to Mambaling Police Station and reported the alleged illegal activities of his neighbor, a certain Reniel.

Operatives verified the information and a police decoy bought shabu from Monceda.

After the transaction, they went back to their office and reported to their chief of police the result of their verification.

They were instructed to coordinate with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 for an entrapment operation and at 11:50 p.m., they went back to the place and bought shabu worth P5,000 from Monceda.

But he sensed that they are policemen and Monceda ran to his house.  They followed and arrested him.

They also recovered a plastic bag that contained shabu weighing 355.3888 grams with an estimated value of P6 million. — MBG (FREEMAN)
