The invisible proxy war

VOTING NOT TO. An EAR source said he doesn’t vote during barangay elections anymore. National and local elections yes, but no longer for the barangays.

Why? He said because over the years he has observed that it has become a proxy war between the sitting city chief executive and those who want to replace him or bring him down.

“It used to participate in barangay elections. But now I see they have become an extension — even a prelude — to city elections,” he said.
