MANILA, Philippines — A stratospheric high awaits everyone as “Game of Drones: 2nd Flight,” the country’s biggest and only drone competition, takes off on May 26.

High-flying teams will come together at The Bike Playground at the Circulo Verde, the city’s newest entertainment and lifestyle destination that has become a haven for adventure.

Game of Drones: 2nd Flight is one such event, providing drone enthusiasts an opportunity to show off their flying skills without having to wander far from the city. The Bike Playground is the ideal venue thanks to its wide open spaces.

The contest has three categories, which will allow participants to battle in various contests for supremacy of the skies.

A spec/open class category, Time Trial is where competitors race to fly their drone across the 300-meter track for one lap. The one who flies their drone within the shortest time will take home a cash prize of P30,000.

Rotocross is a spec class game. For this, participants will be grouped into batches of four for the elimination round. They will then have to fly their drones through a marked course, and the racers who will finish first per batch will move up the ladder of eliminations. Finals will be held in the evening to determine the Rotocross Champion. The winner will receive P20,000 plus items from sponsors.

Drone Photography is an opportunity for photography enthusiasts to take breathtaking aerial shots within the Circulo Verde vicinity. The top 10 entries will be shown at the venue on the day itself for judging. The winner takes home P5,000.

On ground, there will be as much excitement as in the skies. Treats will be available from food stalls and sponsors’ booths to ensure that everyone is revved up for a whole day of fun.

Drone hobbyists, enthusiasts, novice racers, and those who just want a taste of some outdoor fun are all invited to attend and watch as the drones battle for supremacy of the skies.

The Bike Playground is located within Circulo Verde, Calle Industria, Quezon City, a 10-hectare master-planned mixed-use community envisioned by its developers, Ortigas & Co., to become an active lifestyle destination.
