Low key & fabulous!

my LIPS are SEALED… sometimes… - Maurice Arcache - The Philippine Star

The Peninsula Manila once again took center stage for two happenings. First, the photo exhibit of Rupert Jacinto at the Peninsula’s Gallery and second, the launch of the coffee table book Faaabulous VIII, at the Rigodon Ballroom.

Faaabulous VIII is a legacy of timeless portraits of people with beauty, style and elegance, and of those who have carved a significant niche in their field of endeavor.

The cover of the book is a low key but definitely a fabulous lady, so moi will focus on Linda Legaspi, president and CEO of MaryLindbert International, no less, dahlings. She is the brains behind this award-winning company that is recognized both locally and internationally.

Linda is best known as a staunch education advocate, who “imagineered” programs and campaigns for her advocacies. She pursues her passion and untiring dedication towards raising the bar of excellence in public school teachers and students by making learning a joyful experience. She does this advocacy project in partnership with the Department of Education.

Seen supporting Linda on this fab occasion, naturellement, are her good-looking husband, mega businessman and golf aficionado Albert Rosal, daughter Ana Michaela and brother, banker par excellence Evan Legaspi with wife Mitchie and little boy O, who jetted in to join the famillie, palanggas.

Well, this former Ben Farrales model and Renee Salud muse tastefully turned out at the book launch cum ball in a handmade silvery white number embellished with a myriad of Swarovski crystals, which she elegantly carried. Of course, the gown was by her favorite designer, Renee Salud.

You can count with two hands that Linda L. is a perfect example of a low key lady of elegance and substance.

May your tribe increase, Linda Legaspi.

Perfect wine pairings

Ahhh, I wasn’t a lover of wine but when Cloudy Bay captivated the wine world and put Marlborough on the international wine map with its aromatic and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc, I was captivated. Thank you, dahlings.

Today, the iconic wine maintains its devotion to quality and consistency that has generated success.

To share the Cloudy Bay tale, Moët Hennessy Philippines Inc. hosted three to-die-for unique dining events and invited three renowned chefs — Eric Weidmann of Makati Shangri-La Manila’s Sage Bespoke Grill; Nicolas Cegretin of Raffles Hotel Makati’s Mirèio; and Allan Briones, the first Filipino Chef of Old Manila, at The Peninsula Manila — to create elegant feasts for discerning diners. Their menus boasted imaginative flavors and well-crafted dishes further elevated by the expert pairings with Cloudy Bay wines, naturellement.

In case you didn’t know, the stars of these great degustations were Cloudy Bay’s Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Chardonnay 2014 and Pinot Noir 2014. Well, palanggas, now you know.

In the first dinner, chef Eric Weidmann of Sage Bespoke Grill amazed guests with a four-course spread that complemented the three Cloudy Bay wines.

For the second dinner, guests enjoyed wining and dining at the trés chic Mirèio with food superbly prepared by chef Nicolas Cegretin. And during the last dinner of the series, held at The Peninsula Manila’s Old Manila, chef Allan Briones wowed guests with an excellent four-course meal.

The three talented chefs successfully created amazing dining experiences with their well-crafted menus, which tantalized the palate.

Enjoy your own stories of gastronomic greatness with a bottle of exquisite, ahhh-so-smooth Cloudy Bay wine, dahlings.

A glittery, glamorous birthday party

The gracious and fashionable Connie Haw recently chose Chef Jessie at the Rockwell Club as the venue for her delightful birthday celebration. This occasion, dahlings, was celebrated with her famillie and closest pals.

Guests were feted with a sumptuous fare from the exquisite and special menu prepared by the doyen herself, chef Jessie Sincioco. A fantastic three-layered cake from Connie’s daughter, Kim Haw-Perkins, was specially made for this occasion.

Après dinner, invitees were entertained by the Skylight Band, famous for its contemporary to classic and nostalgia songs.

It was indeed an evening of good music, great food and really a chosen social circle of friends. —Photos by Alex Van Hagen powered by MAC Center
