Quezon City gets highest COA audit rating anew

MANILA, Philippines — For five straight years, the Quezon City government has received an unmodified opinion from the Commission on Audit.
According to COA, the highest rating is issued “when an auditor concludes that the financial statements are prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.”
Mayor Joy Belmonte said the assessment affirms the city’s commitment to transparency, accountability and sound fiscal governance.
“This recognition from COA is not just about numbers – it’s about trust. It affirms that we are managing public funds with integrity and always with the welfare of QCitizens in mind,” Belmonte said. “It’s a testament to our team’s dedication to honest, transparent and efficient governance.”
Belmonte, whose leadership is centered on transparency and good governance, secured her final term following a landslide victory in the May midterm elections.
During the campaign, she touted the improved local government services as a result of better fiscal management.
“With this recognition, Quezon City solidifies its position as one of the most financially well-managed local government units in the country,” city hall said.
“It also strengthens the city’s mission to deliver transparent, people-centered services that uplift lives and contribute to national progress,” the local government added.
