MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government has warned the public against fake social media posts announcing the supposed suspension of classes.

The local government issued two advisories to call out online posts saying that classes were suspended in the city on Monday and Tuesday.

“These posts are fake and are meant to deceive the public,” the advisories stated. “Be critical, cautious and smart about what we read online.”

The local government reminded the public that class suspensions will only be announced through the city’s official Facebook page.

Classes in public and elementary schools across the country resumed on Monday.
