MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government will begin next month the distribution of over 420,000 learning kits to kindergarten to Grade 12 students enrolled in public schools in the city.

Since 2020, the city government has distributed over 2.4 million learning kits to public school students.

The kits include a school bag, notebooks, ballpen, pencils, whiteboard, marker, water tumbler and other essential supplies.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the local government also rolled out the distribution of computer tablets and other gadgets to support the implementation of blended learning.

Laptops were also given to public school teachers and college students at the Quezon City University.

Following her landslide victory in the midterm elections, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte vowed to increase the beneficiaries of the city’s scholarship programs.

Classes in public kindergarten, elementary and high schools are scheduled to open on June 16.
