Isko leading in Manila mayoral race – OCTA

MANILA, Philippines — Less than two weeks before the midterm elections on May 12, Isko Moreno has maintained a commanding lead in the race for Manila mayor, according to a survey released yesterday by the OCTA Research group.
The poll, conducted from April 20 to 23, showed Moreno garnering voter preference of 63 percent from respondents.
Reelectionist Mayor Honey Lacuna registered 18-percent voter preference while Rep. Sam Versoza had 16 percent.
While Lacuna gained three percent from her previous rating of 15 percent, this is still within the margin of error of +/- three percent, according to OCTA.
Even if Lacuna’s and Versoza’s numbers were combined, they would still fall short of Moreno’s strong support from Manila residents, the pollster said.
Moreno led the mayoralty race in all six districts of Manila.
He vowed to restore cleanliness, discipline and order in the capital city if he is elected.
