MANILA, Philippines — For discussing a woman’s undergarments, a gubernatorial aspirant in Bohol may be barred from running in the May 12 elections.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday issued a show-cause order to Dan Neri Lim, requiring him to answer the complaint within three days.

Comelec Task Force Safe asked Lim to explain in writing why he should not be disqualified from the gubernatorial race and charged with an election offense.

In his radio program on March 19, Lim reportedly discussed the undergarments of Rep. Maria Vanessa Aumentado, whose husband is also seeking the gubernatorial post.

The task force said Lim’s remarks violated the guidelines on anti-discriminatory and fair campaigning.
