CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — The Central Luzon police seized 260 firearms in its “Revitalized Katok” campaign from Jan. 10 to Feb. 15.

Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Central Luzon police director, said the campaign aims to curb illegal firearms and prevent potential election-related violence.

Fajardo called on firearm holders with expired licenses to voluntarily deposit their firearms at the nearest police station as she stressed the critical role of responsible gun ownership, especially during the election period.

“We remind all gun owners to renew their firearm licenses or surrender their firearms for safekeeping. This is not just about compliance – it is about protecting lives and ensuring a peaceful electoral process,” Fajardo said
